Country Dialogue preparing for Thailand's funding request to the Global Fund for 2027-2029

On 19-20 March 2026, Dr. Nicolas Durier, General Director of Dreamlopments (DLP) Foundation, and Dr. Nyan Linn, Head of Programs, participated in Thailand's Country Dialogue for preparation of the country application to the Global Fund (GF) for Cycle 8 (2027-2029).

The GF funding allocation to Thailand is reduced by 46% for the coming period, as compared to the last funding cycle (2024-2026). The GF has notified the Country Coordination Mechanism that this will also be the last period of funding support to Thailand from the Global Fund. This will have significant impact on the nature and extent of activities proposed by each funding recipient, including DLP. The Country Dialogue emphasized the importance of developing activities that support transition to fully sustainable programs, which is a roadmap that we follow at DLP for M-FUND and C-FREE projects, since inception.
